Before Jim Stavis could be considered for a transplant, a hospital social worker asked him a question during his psychological evaluation: “What is your source of hope?”
He wrote and produced a documentary to answer it.
Source of Hope chronicles Jim's triple organ transplant and the family whose seventeen-year-old son made it possible. It won the Doing Good Award at the Lifetree Film Festival — third highest honor in the festival, against productions with vastly more behind them — and screened at the New Hope Film Festival.
Jim is not a filmmaker by trade. He made it because the story was not only his.
